CFTP Presents: Octaman

You might remember scenes from this movie being shown by the horror host character in "Gremlins 2"!  It is actually worse than it looked there.  A researcher in rural Mexico has discovered a new species of apparently fresh water octopus living in the polluted waters of a chain of remote lakes that the locals fear.  When their funding is cut by their research institute (cause why would a research institute want to, you know, research anything?), they go looking for other investors and find one in a sideshow/carnival operator that wants a new freak for his show.  What they find on their mission is a big octo-mom that's pissed that they've been kidnapping and killing its' babies!  This was actually one of the first movies that famed special effects guy Rick Baker worked on, but I'm sure he'd rather forget that he had anything to do with this steaming pile.

This poster became much more detailed and involving than I ever intended, but it's what the poster wanted.  I really wanted to capture just why the Octaman was a murderous monster in the first place.  OK, sure, he might have been belligerent before the scientists started slaughtering his babies, but his assault on them was justified especially after they just kept going at him, making him more enraged with every encounter.
