Lost CFTP Vs. The Werewolf of Washington

Description

You can't see this episode, cause it's lost, which is a huge shame that I think we'll one day rectify... but for the moment, it's gone.  The movie is really right up our alley: it stars a young Dean Stockwell as a White House press assistant who sort of loves the President's daughter, but also recently became a werewolf while on an assignment in Soviet-controlled Hungary.  As bodies of people he's met begin to pile up, he figures out he's a werewolf and tries to tell everyone but no one believes him, like at all, even when he offers evidence!  Dean hams it up in this and it's really quite glorious.  It's supposed to be a comedy, but it's not funny enough so by the time you figure that out, the movie is over halfway over.  It's also extraordinarily prophetic: it was made in 1973 but seems to uncannily depict the George W. Bush administration with a gung-ho, moron President, and a bloviating, violent Vice President.  One other thing, this movie is obsessed with bathrooms.  Seriously, it has more scenes in and around lavatories than any movie I've ever seen!

Now, you're probably wondering why this movie is lost.  Our tale begins just before InterventionCon 2013, held annually in Rockville, Maryland, just outside of Washington DC.  At our second year doing our riffing thing live at Intervention, we wanted to do something that reflected the area and The Werewolf of Washington fit the bill.  We hadn't actually sat down and watched all of it, so the night before we riffed it live we watched it in our hotel room and it was truly magnificent!  A movie that was so out there, so goofy, and so perfect for the convention we were at!  That live showing went off quite well so we decided that it'd be our third "CFTP Vs." episode.  We came up with a script where Jim shaves his beard off and the rest of us are so horrified that we convince our corporate masters at HypoChondriCo to give him a hair growth formula.  Unfortunately, the side effect is that it turns him into a werewolf!  All we had to do was film the thing.... and that's where the problems began.  Internet connection problems.  On the first evening we only recorded riffing for about half of the movie when we had to quit.  It was nearly two months before all of us who were there for the first go-around could gather together to finish it.  Unfortunately, it has turned into an editing nightmare that Jim has been unable to salvage.  I made this poster before we knew that it just wasn't going to work.  So, at some point, we're going to reriff this movie (cause it'll be a shame if we don't), but we don't know when or in what capacity, whether it'll be a "CFTP Vs." or just a "CFTP Presents:", but we'll get around to it eventually.

Since bathrooms were so prominent in this movie, I had to include that element in the poster, so I went with basically making the poster a restroom sign, complete with braille.  I made it using Gimp.

Sorry, no episode link cause it doesn't exist.  Not yet anyway.  I'll update it later when/if we get around to reriffing it.
